Following the discovery that Lamar CISD Teacher Adrienne Harborth, an elementary school teacher in Rosenberg, Texas, had taken sexually explicit recordings of herself inside Gray Elementary School while it was open, the community and local authorities were incensed.

Community activists Quanell X and Candice Matthews uploaded the graphic video, which has since gone viral. It depicts Harborth performing sexual behaviors in a school bathroom and classroom, including baring parts of her body. Her location and identity were verified by her name appearing on her school ID badge, which was visible in the films.
Matthews and Quanell X are putting pressure on the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) to be more accountable. They demand that Harborth’s teaching license be withdrawn, that she not be allowed to teach in the district, and that the district notify the Texas Education Agency (TEA) of her activities.
At a recent press conference, they emphasized the need to protect students and called for thorough investigations, including police interviews with Harborth’s former students.
Harborth’s employment at Gray Elementary was not renewed at the end of the 2023-2024 school year, but the administration was unaware of the videos until recently.
Lamar CISD Teacher has acknowledged the videos and started an investigation. They confirmed Harborth is no longer employed by the district and assured the community they are committed to addressing any criminal behavior or ethical violations.
Statement from Lamar CISD:
“This afternoon, the district received copies of two videos allegedly recorded by a former employee on school property. The videos were provided by a citizen. Our officers have opened an investigation and, upon initial review, do not believe that children were present during the filming. However, the investigating officer is working to verify the timestamp and circumstances surrounding the recordings.”
Concerned citizens have raised questions to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott about defending Texas children from predators within the educational system. Similar incidents have occurred in Texas schools in the past. This incident highlights the importance of maintaining integrity and safety in educational environments.
